Apparently unpublished
Lot 1107
SELEUKID KINGS. Antiochos III ‘the Great’, 222-187 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.65 g, 10 h), uncertain mint in northern Mesopotamia, circa 192/90-187. Diademed head of Antiochos III to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEⲰΣ - [A]NTIOXOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to outer left, uncertain monogram; to outer right, monogram. SC -, cf. 1133 (differing monograms and form of legend). Apparently unpublished. A few scratches and struck from a worn obverse die, otherwise, very fine.

From a European collection, formed before 2005.

The style of the portrait and the treatment of Apollo associates this coin with the 'uncertain mint 68', but the cursive omega in the legend also links it to SC 1137, which was only tentatively linked to this mint. None of the control monograms are listed in SC.
